Displays > Language Files > Edit Language File

Current Category

Lists the category and subcategories that you have chosen from Choose a category. You can use the linked categories to move up in the category hierarchy.

Choose a category

Specifies the category in which you want to search. Categories represent a different part of the Admin Console or Search interface, or a functional area in the program. Clicking Go restricts the search to that category; the category is placed in the Current Category bread crumbs to indicate that it is currently selected.

If the category you select has subcategories, they are listed in the Choose a category drop-down list. If the category does not have subcategories, Portfolio opens the results page to show all of the strings that are in that category.

Search in this category

Specifies the string (unlimited length) to search for in the currently selected category. All searches are case sensitive.

Search and replace in this category

Search and replace lets you designate a text string to locate in the current category and replace all occurrences of that string with an alternate string you specify.

Search For

Specifies the string (unlimited length) you want to replace.

Note: All searches are case sensitive.

Replace With

Specifies the string (unlimited length) you want to use to replace the Search string.

Search Results

The Search Results page lists the fields and strings from the Portfolio interface that have text that matches the search string from Edit Language File page. The search results table includes the text from the language file you are editing, the original English text, and a box for editing the string.

The Search Results table includes these columns

Column Description

English

Displays the default English text used for the original interface (en_US). This can be helpful to understand the context and original intent of the label, prompt, or message.

Original

Displays the text from the base language file, that is, the language that the current language file was based from (see Fields: Add Language).

Current

Displays editing fields that contain the text from the language file. You can use these fields to edit the text.
